The words are written in the sand

Alishiya. Ali. My soul was meant to live. Free in my body, flowing fabric. Bare feet. Love and peace in the air. Surrounded by nature. A dread among flowing hair of beads and string. Meditating, grass settling below my body. Yoga, breathing, moving with nature. Long hikes among trees, in the mountains. Naps with sunflowers swaying around me. Yellow. Hands in dirt, herbs, veggies, flowers. Reggae and the Grateful Dead, sways of the hips, a prayer. Baths in waterfalls, lakes. Creative hands, needle and thread, string and beads, paint stains. Green tea, mint, food from the Earth. Bed among the trees. Books, a joining soul. Love, union of souls. Flow of tapestries. Earthy. GOD. Love and good vibes. SAT NAM. It’s a gloomy day to match my gloomy heart.

My last few days in NoVa and honestly my heart is a bit heavy, not only because I am leaving but also because of where I am going. I know that growth doesn’t end, and I feel that I need to give this a chance but still.

  • Saying goodbye to my roommate (best friend for 4 years) this morning, home alone for the weekend
  • Homemade dinner and movie with Nathalie was really good (corn tortillas with sprouts, avocado, black beans, and lemon juice, asparagus and mushrooms as a side, sorbet and shortbread cookies as dessert), candle lit and wine.
  • Cleaned
  • Now, I am finishing up packing, with a glass of wine by my side
  • Yoga, Mass and Baltimore for lotus for tomorrow

Had to hoop to Beats Antique’s remix to this song.

and had such an amazing time.

  • went to my first drum circle! and hooped with others. (I was in such a flow that I never experienced, it was beautiful)
  • enjoyed the sun and the ocean
  • watched the sunset
  • went dancing
  • met people and had conversation

Did a 40 minute yoga sesh outside this morning with Beats Antique’s spring mix, and surprisingly found a really nice flow.

relaxin’ and doing chores throughout the day.

alone.

I have been doing so many things by myself in the past week, even in the past month and it feels like the most freeing thing possible. It feels most like me.

  • went to some nature trails by myself
  • Spent a morning/afternoon in dc, visiting museums, eating breakfast and lunch in the gardens
  • Walked around Arlington running errands
  • Went to see some local bands play at jammin Java last night
  • now, I’m enjoying some Phish playing in the background while I make some gluten free banana pancakes.
  • Later, going to see galaxy dynamite play

Life is sweet.

Just remember that sometimes, the way you think about a person isn’t the way they actually are.

Peace in Silence. (by ali0kapoor)

“There is so much peace in silence, to sit still and know that in this moment, everything is the way it should be.” -May 21, 2013

Grabbed a bag with my journal, my book, my camera, snacks, hooked my hoop on to the strap, and walked to some nature trails, just spent time by myself. It was beautiful.
